Review: Finally, a gap year gives every student a much-needed mental reset after thirteen years of nonstop schooling. Even if we don’t realise it, most of us are burnt out by the end of Year 12. Going straight into uni while mentally exhausted only makes things harder. A compulsory gap year allows students to refresh, rebuild their motivation, and start their next stage feeling ready rather than drained. When students begin university with a clear mind and renewed energy, they’re far more likely to succeed and stay committed.
