Review: Yes, texture is very different. I'd describe it as slight rubbery or soft plasticky feeling. Finger still glides pretty well so usability is not that affected There are shallow bumps, dimples, almost everywhere. It claim to be self-healing but it won't recover to a smooth finish like a tempered glass. Finger print sensor works flawlessly as if you're not using any screen protector. With tempered glass, I notice accuracy and speed goes down significantly (probably due to added internal reflection?) The edge-to-edge coverage of the hydrogel is amazing. It looks like there's no protection but you can feel that it's there.
